KAmodDIGIpot

From Kamamilabs.com - Wiki

Description

KAmodDIGIpot is a miniature digital potentiometer module. It allows you to change the resistance value between outputs A, W, B (compatible with analog potentiometer outputs) using two PU/PD inputs, using buttons or microcontroller outputs. Adjustment is done in 32 steps, resistance value 10k.

Basic features and parameters
  • Integrated circuit AD5228BUJZ10
  • Power supply: 2.7 – 5.5 V
  • Pins B, W, A compatible with analog potentiometer pins
  • PU, PD inputs for controlling the resistance value - active in low state
  • Leaded PRE input (Power On Preset) - when connected to GND, the initial resistance value is 5k (by default pulled up by a 10k resistor), to VCC - 0k
  • Potentiometer value 10k, adjustable in 32 steps
  • Mounting hole diameter 3 mm
  • Dimensions: 11 x 17 mm

Designation Function
PRE
  • Allows you to set the slider position during system startup. When the PRE pin is connected to ground, the slider will be in the middle position during startup, while if the PRE is connected to the power supply, the initial slider position will be at zero. It is not recommended to leave the PRE pin unconnected.
B, W, A
  • Pins are consistent with a traditional analog potentiometer, A and B are the extreme resistance pins, while the W pin is connected to the potentiometer slider.
VCC
  • Power supply input 2.7...5.5 V
PU
  • Push-Up - if we want to use buttons for control, they should short the pin to ground when pressed. However, if we want to work with a digital system, such as a microcontroller, we should supply a logical signal "0" to the output.
PD
  • Push-down - if we want to use buttons for control, they should short the output to ground when pressed. However, if we want to work with a digital system, such as a microcontroller, we should supply a logical signal "0" to the output.
GND
  • Power supply ground

Note! It is important not to exceed the supply voltage when connecting the module outputs.

Dimensions

The dimensions of the KAmodDIGIpot board are 21x17 mm. There is a 3 mm diameter mounting hole on the board.
